Just before the half term break Year 5 were lucky enough to go on a camping trip to Kent. We traveeled on the train from London Bridge to Ashurst. From the station we walked for two hours, stopping by a dairy farm to get freshly made ice cream to cool us down. We met the farmer and he told us how it was made. When we got to the campsite, we unpacked to set up camp for the next three days. It was so exciting! We played games, learnt new skills, cooked our own meals and investigated our surroundings. What an adventure!
"My favourite bit was when we met the drum master, because we haven't met anyone like him before; he had a really positive vibe, and he gave us positive vibes."- said Emelda.
Ibraihma said "I loved building dens" , and Akellah enjoyed "spending time with my friends outside of school". Mohammed said "My best moment was when I went to the toilet at night and I saw the stars in the sky, they were shimmering."
Huge thanks to The Garden Classroom who organised this wonderful opportunity for our Year 5 class, and to Olivia, Francoise and Roderick who staffed the trip. You can see some more photos from the trip in the photo gallery section of the school website.
