Last week Year 2 and Year 4 took part in Nest Box Building workshops, creating 10 bird nest boxes to put up around the school site. Steve, a maintenance operative from Sanctuary Housing, and Jo, who also works for Sanctuary, came along to help the children learn how to make a wooden Nest Box. Thanks to them both for their time and encouragment. We are looking forward to painting the boxes and getting them up in the Science Garden and around the playground, where, hopefully they will become new homes for visiting birds.
